Embedded computer: This is a device with an embedded microprocessor and firmware that includes computing and additional functionality specifically designed to do only one dedicated task. Here, the computer is included as part of the equipment itself and not driven from an independent computer somewhere else in the system. This software configuration encompasses an application-implemented operating system.
